I guess the cable itself is ok, so I’m not going to write a bad review for it.

I am, however, writing this review as a warning so that people with 2011 Hyundais (Elantra, specifically in my case) won’t buy this cable hoping it will replace the expensive dealer cable.

    It doesn’t.

The line out functionality does give audio. The USB functionality does connect the iPod as a USB device. But it only shows up in Flash Drive mode, with its cryptic database format of a directory and filename structure.

Buy this cable if you’re looking for the convenience of a combination line-out and USB cable.
Do NOT buy this cable if you’re looking for “iPod connectivity” in 2011 Hyundai models.

There might be better functionality if you have the upgraded touchscreen navigation/audio system, but I don’t know.

This cord is great, it eliminates having to plug in a separate cord to the headphone jack and the dock connector (for charging). Much more tidy setup in my Altima and the sound quality does not suffer from being a shared cable. I do get a pop up warning that the cord is ‘not optimized for this device’ but it works fine.

My car has a Pioneer system, with USB capability and I’ve been using my iPOD with it for over 2 years now. As a result of daily use, the cable had worn-out. Also, the other day, we went on a long drive in my friend’s car. I was all excited to play songs from my iPOD, but I was disappointed to notice a 3.5mm jack for the ‘AUX’ compatibility!

That is when I thought, 1 cable with both USB as well as 3.5mm jack capability would be great! And voila!!! Found this product. Decent reviews and competitive price made me choose this product. And I’ve been quite happy with the performance. I now, use it on both cars. I now carry it with me wherever I travel – you never know what kind of ‘aux’ unit you’ll encounter!! :-)
